| Q. What are the volunteer requirements for the NCAA Final Four?
A. You must commit to work a minimum of 3 shifts over the course of the event. Volunteer shifts range from 3-5 hours.
Q. If I volunteer, will I get a ticket to the games on Saturday or Monday?
A. Unfortunately no, but you will receive a Final Four uniform, meet wonderful individuals and participate in a volunteer appreciation event following Final Four.
Q. Why am I required to give my Social Security number when I register?
A. Social Security numbers are required for criminal background checks, which will be run on all registered volunteers. Your Social Security number will be securely masked on the registration site and will not be used for any other purposes.
Q. Why do I need to go through a criminal background check?
A. It is the policy of the NCAA to complete a check of all volunteers associated with the Final Four event.
Q. When is volunteer orientation and do I have to attend?
A. Multiple volunteer orientations will be offered beginning in mid-March. Attendance to at least one orientation session is required. Registered volunteers will receive an email announcing training dates, times and locations.
Q. Why can't teenagers volunteer?
A. You must be 18 years old to volunteer, and 21 years old to be a courtesy car driver. While we appreciate the willingness of younger children to volunteer, you must be an adult to agree to the criminal background check and liability waiver.
Q. What does the volunteer uniform include?
A. The uniform includes a white branded polo-type shirt, available in men's and women's sizes, grey jacket and a branded cap. You will be asked to specify your shirt size when you register. The windbreaker and polo shirts are to be worn with a self-supplied, well maintained pair of khaki pants, shorts or skirt and comfortable shoes.
Q. What's the difference between volunteer opportunities at Bracket Town vs. other events?
A. Bracket Town requires a large number of volunteers to successfully run the 4-day event. Therefore, individuals who volunteer for this event are required to select a minimum of 3 shifts at Bracket Town prior to registering for other volunteer opportunities.
Q. Will parking be provided?
A. The Atlanta Local Organizing Committee is working to provide discounted or complimentary parking for volunteers. More details will be provided during orientation. Volunteers are encouraged to take MARTA due to the high volume of traffic during this time.
Q. Where can I keep my personal belongings?
A. We ask that you not bring any personal items unless they can be kept on your person. Unfortunately, we do not have a secure location to store your personal belongings.
Q. Will food/drinks be provided during my shift?
A. Meals will not be provided to volunteers given the short duration of most shifts (3 - 5 hours). Please make sure you eat before your volunteer shift. Volunteers will be allowed to bring Coca-Cola products and bottled water to consume during their shift.
Q. What is the Final Four doing to be more environmentally sustainable?
A. The Atlanta Local Organizing Committee and NCAA are taking a proactive approach to mitigate the environmental concerns associated with hosting major events such as those taking place around the Final Four. In addition to an electronics waste drive, tree planting, and recycling opportunities, please see the “Green” page on the Atlanta Final Four website for more info.
Q. Why doesn't the registration site work on my device?
A. The registration website appears to be incompatible with Apple products (iPhones and iPads). We are exploring remedies for this issue but cannot guarantee it will be resolved.
